Arthroscopy

At Dr. Khayyal's Orthopedic Surgery office , we make every effort to keep our patients out of the operating room. However, some conditions, such as certain kinds of joint problems, do require surgery. Arthroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that involves a camera attached to a light source used to view inside joints. The arthroscope is a powerful tool that allows visualization of injuries to cartilage, ligaments and tendons. In combination with other surgical instrumentation, problems affecting the joint can be addressed. Advances using this approach result in less damage to the surrounding structures, which typically lead to a shorter recovery time for patients.

Dr. Khayyal's Orthopedic Surgery office is one of the leaders in providing care for the joints of the body. Patients from all over Southeastern Wisconsin and the surrounding area are treated by arthroscopy on the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle. Their goal is to optimize recovery, so patients can return to and maintain active lives as quickly as possible.
